Talaiva

Cocktails and desserts are the main attractions apart from the classic ambience. Starters are also very good over here . Main Course can be a let down if you dont choose proper dish for yourself. My rating would be 4.5 stars.

And here is my detailed thought about Talaiva

Talaiva is a Casual Dinning restaurant andd bar located in the compound of Kamala Mills.

The ambience of this place is really soothing and pleasant . The colour combination of gold and grey all over the place gives that richness touch to the place. Being a total open space without any obstructions or pillars around it gives a feeling of big space. There's a Dj desk as well and a kind of dance floor itself with the bar parallel to it.

Visited this place at lunch time and around 40%-50% occupancy was there already which is not bad atall on a weekday afternoon.

We started with some mocktails and cocktails and a shake as well.
My recommended ones would be :
English Men In India
WildFlower
Oreo Marshmellow Cheesecake Shake

In Starter I tried only one dish in Veg which was one of the best.
Wild Mushroom And Thyme Samosa. Yes , samosa stuffed with finely chopped mushrooms . That tasted amazing. All the vegetarians this is your dish which you cant afford to miss when you visit here.

In Non Veg Starters I tried Achari Choosa , Neelgiri murg and Fish & Chips.

The Achari Choosa is basically the boneless chicken kebabs with the tangy and chat type of flavours infused in them which you cant resist . It is a kind of dish which would leave its taste on your tongue for a long time and after this dish it would be unfair to try other ones because any other dish would feel blant after tasting this one.

Neelgiri Murg is a dish which is prepared with a lot of hardwork and patience. It is marinated with very simple and basic masalas for over a time period of 24hrs . The leg pieces are very well cooks then and served hot. The taste is something which wont attract the spicy food lovers because of the basic marination, but the people who like their chicken to be cooked very well and the marination to go till its bone, its made just for you.

Then I Tried the Gymkhana Fish And Chips. Its a very simple dish. Fish with the batter and served with fries. You can have this with a glass of poison which you prefer.
P.S. : Poison is the alcohol drink which you prefer.
So Now For the Main Course I First ordered

Chicken Breast with Creamy Mash. A simple Pan Fried Chicken with mash potatos .
Lal Maas was the dish for which I was waiting for eagerly . A typical Rajasthani dish served in a matka pot . The gravy filled with aromo of masalas and the spicyness. The meat perfectly cooked and tender enough .  Its was one of the best Lal Maas which i have had in Mumbai.
( Do recommend me if you know some places which can serve better Lal Maas)

With lal maas I went for the butter naan and also ordered for a kheema kulcha. Naan was goof but the only issue with the kheema kulcha was that the stuffing was really less. Might be a rare case happening but happened with me.

Time for the favourite part of any meal and thats the DESSERTS.

1) Gajar Ka Halwa : Very nicely made halwa with proper amount of nuts over it and most importantly it had less sugar still taste good. So if you are a dessert person and want to consume less sugar go for this one.
2) Kala Jamun with Vanilla Ice Cream : This is one of the best combinations of gulab jamun. This kala Jamun was stuffed with dry fruits and tasted amazing.
3) Chocolate Mousse Cake : It was pure nirvana when you take the first bite itself. The crust was also amazing and the chocolate mousse just spectacular. Its a must try here. It can happen that it is not available because of such high depend. So grab one for yourself at the start itself.
Overall a great place with good food and great ambience.
And also if you are lucky enough you can spot a few celebs coming here like I spot one , Tanisha Mukherjee. Okay fine not a celebrity but yes a movie artist.
